Parchment

This morning I went to my first Parchment lesson. It is something I've wanted to do for a long while and when I discovered that Alison Yeates who is Parchment Guru lives just up the road from me and runs classes in the town twice a month I was quick to sign up.

This is the result, I'm quite proud of it for a first attempt although the edging is a bit tatty, still not bad. The others in the group have been going for a long time but Alison took time to set me a simple? design and show me how to work each stage, even down to the colouring. It will be long time before I get to the standard they are at, their work was beautiful.

The picture is not a good as I would have liked but the best I can do at the moment.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, your comments are greatly appreciated.

  1. Ooh, well done Anne! I haven't met Alison but I know what a good reputation she has - I'm going to her course in Devon in October and looking forward to it, though with some trepidation too since I'm largely self taught.

  3. Well done Anne it is very good for a first attempt. I used to go to Alison's classes in Fareham before the Stationary Store closed down. I used to really enjoy them. Afraid I have not kept it up on my own, getting drawn into stamping instead. I wish you lots of fun and I'm sure you will. sue x

  5. This is beautiful Anne! Your first attempt shows you are a natural at parchment craft. I used to do quite a bit of it until my hands let me down. I know Alison and she is very kind and patient, you couldn't ask for a better tutor. I look forward to seeing more of your parchment cards.

Thanks for the lovely comment you left me.
